What Is Your OPE? (moved from community chat forum)
Original Message   Jan 16, 2005 11:42 pm
I have a Stihl FS250R Trimmer, 725R Ryobi Trimmer, Toro Ultra 225 Blower, Black&Decker Edge Hog, Scotts 6.5HP Self Prepelled Mower, Murray 8HP Rear Engine Rider. So what is yours. The last time I asked this on WTB, hardly anyone posted. So lurkers, get yourself out the door and post! What is your OPE?

I'd have to say my favorite OPE piece is my Echo ES-230 shred'n'vac.  The next one the list is the LT1000 Craftsman mower I have.  There are better pieces out there, but this is what I have.

Well, since I brought this back to the top I guess I should say that if I actually owned any OPE I would have a few of my favorites, that's for sure.  If I had a lawn I would have the Husqvarna YTH1542XP or YTH1848XP (depending on the size lawn), for a grass trimmer/brushcutter - it's a toss up between the Husqvarna 325RX and the Shindaiwa C230, I like the performance of both of these machines, for a tiller definitely a Mantis, for a chainsaw, Shindaiwa has a couple of new smaller saws out that are easy to start so I'd probably go with the Shindaiwa 285s (28cc's not like I need to do firewood, that's what Chris is for) or RedMax's little G4000.  I think that about covers it for now.

For me it's definitely my Simplicity Conquest. It's just a real solid performing machine and comfortable. As for my wish list, that was on top of it, the Conquest. So I'm just grateful I was able to get my "dream machine".

What I have is listed below. I love the Toro snowblower and would buy it again. The LT is satisfactory, considering it's a cheap one but a much nicer one is certainly on my wish list...maybe a Legacy XL or a GT235, if only I could hit those six numbers......

My signature lists my OPE.  Favorite has to be the Mantis.  I'm incredibly impressed by the quality of the machine, the work it is capable of doing, and the responsiveness of the company that manufactures it.

Oh yeah I forgot the winter season.  Don't know how I could have done that we had a fire last night to take the chill out of the house - it is the middle of June right?????  For snow blowing I would take a Snapper blower.  I'd have to go with the one of the larger models so I wouldn't have to be outside for that long in the cold and the snow.
