Honda Engine Icing up..
Original Message   Feb 18, 2008 4:48 pm
Can someone please post a picture of a Honda blower with that "Carb Icing" kit installed, or something home-made that works? I recently repowered an older machine with an 11 HP Honda, and it runs great until the carb freezes. When it's bitter cold, it's fine. When it's warmer, it's fine. Dusty snow seems to "condense", for lack of a better term, and then freeze on the outside of the carb, keeping the linkages from moving. I can't throttle down once the driveway's done, or when it plugs up.. I like to let any air cooled engine idle for a couple of mins before I shut it off. It's a pain, and not exactly a safety feature :-)

Just looking for a picture or two to base a home remedy off of. Thanks very much.

John
