Toro 824 snowblower won't move? ... Im a first time owner of a snowblower ... I actually don't own it, a buddy from work is letting me borrow it.  Theres only one problem with it; it won't self propel.  I have no idea how these things work so when I take the bottem plate off all I see is an assembly of gears and friction disks and belts.  What would I look for in order to diagnose this problem?

yes the belt can be adjusted, there should be an adjustable tensionor on the drive belt if its adjusted all the way then the belt needs to be replaced, take the old belt off and bring with u too a local repair shop a they will measure the belt and give you the correct one.   good luck!

Thank you for the response.  How do I take the belt off if that is in fact something that has to be replaced?

For a manual Google "Toro". Select Homeowner. Under Customer Care
select Operators and Parts Manuals. Enter your model number, not 824,
the 38xxx number of a plate on the blower. They have there the
Operator's, Parts and Drive manuals for the 824. The Drive manual
is detailed on how to change and adjust the bets.
