borat l'm just saying if the max rpm is 3600 which i believe it is, then there's no sense in pushing the engine to its limits, the engine should have close to its max hp at around 3000 rpm give or take thats the way how l understand it works

B&S Intek Snow Max engine: Page 15, paragraph 2, " ENGINE SPEED - Always run the snow thrower at full throttle."
At 3600 rpm, the engine isn't at it's limits. It's at it's designed operating rpm. I always run my ope machines wide open. That's where the power is. I've never had a problem. If I paid for 9.5 horse power, why would I run it at 7 or 8 h.p.? Take a walk on the wild side and try full throttle. You'll like it.

last time i checked these engines come factory pre-set to run at 3600 rpm's. so borat when you and everyone else runs there machine at wide open it is at 3600. yes you are correct in some of these engine with different internal parts will run faster. you need cobalt/ hardend valves, heat treated cam gear connecting rod etc. briggs and stratton actually has a motorsports division. they specialize in go cart engines. some are world formula, godzilla. these do not have the governor system inside but the have a rev limiter on the ignition coil. these are set at a desired rpm as not to blow the engine. www.briggsracing.com Would the rpm of those racing engines be limited at or below 3600?
No need to beleaguer this topic. The manual states, without reservation, to run the engine at full throttle. Full throttle is 3600 rpm. What's hard to understand about that? Or, is there a secret conspiracy among engine manufacturers to have us run our engines at 3600 rpm so that they expire sooner therefore requiring the purchase of more engines? Yeah. That's got to be it.
