Actually, that was next on my list. After I got the engine running (hopefully today). I was going to sand it and paint it so it would look nice. I'll take some pics when its done. I was also planning to get a new primer, next time I went to the hardware store for some sprk plugs and things(most likey also today). I don't think it will be to difficult to get into the cowling on the Toro. "I'm experienced", I've had to do it on bothe of my other single stages. The MTD, when the recoil starter broke, adn the electric start wouldnt engage, and on my old Toro S 200, it was my dads, dads, snowthrower, which finally konked out after all these years. Both times I had no trouble. Glad you enjoyed the pics!!

Drill out, retap, new screws. Makes a simple repair a pain in the tukus...

Marty Then I guess I got lucky, I only had to remove the "dash" cover, and used the spark plug access cover to get to the bottom of the primer. I ended up just prying it out with a screwdriver, becuse i couldn't get the little tabs on the back to squish together. The OPE shop I usually go to was closed, and the hardware store didn't have it. So today I'll have to go back earlier adn get the primer. Also, I have some numbers that I found under the tarter switch(as suggested) but, I can't fiure out what they mean... They are: HS40-5552L SER 901T0 I'm pretty sure that I copied them correctly, BUT, the 9(bolded) might be an eight. The book I got from the library doesn't show what they mean. If anybody knows, it would be appreciated.
Thanks. Adam

Launboy, 5552L is the engine Spec, 555 says it's a HSK40 engine, other long number is it's serial number. Hope this helps!! Fred

Fred, thanks, I kind of thought that the one after the SER was the serial number, but my thoughts have now been confirmed. 'Lint, I sent you the e-mail hope you got it. Last night Took off the bowl, and the float was indeed stuck. Cleaned that out and put it back together, and guess what. No more gas out the vent hole!! I'm going to have to get a new seal for the bowl, becuase the one on there now it old and falling apart. When I pushed the primer though gas came out of somewhere on the back of the carb, didn't invetigate last night though, to cold, and my hands were getting numb. Adam

Went to my favorite little OPE shop today, and got the primer for the Toro CCR 1000. I also ordered a carb rebuild kit for the Snapper. Should be here sometime early next week. Adam
