Loose belt on an Arien 8526LE?

How loose should the attachment/clutch belt be when the clutch is not engaged? Once I push the clutch down the belt is nice and tight. But when I let it go it seems like the belt is just flopping around. I can already see some wear on the belt, and I just had it replaced by an unreliable dealer. See my other post for that whole other mess.

Fred, I have not even heard back from them. I will probably write an email this week and ask if they contacted the dealer.
