Tom,  Thanks very much for sending the instructions on disk adj., I've downloaded them, so you can let your server go. I gave the disk a good looking over and it's worn to a bevel shape on the rubber, it's also got some pretty good chunks out of it. I THINK THIS IS WHERE i'LL START. and see if it solves the problem. I downloaded some step by step instructions from a forum user, and I thank that user very much excellent  step by step. One thing , I've never removed a chain link before. What do you remove ? Is there  a "C" clip fastener ?  Again Thanks .  I'm a bit hesitant to start dissasembly at the start of the winter plus no garage.  I'll try the adjustment now and replace the disk come spring  richb

That sounds like a plan.  Just spin the chain around until you find the "master link".  It will be obvious and from there on, self explanatory. Just be careful that the clip doesn't go flying.
