Anyone use this on their snowblowers? A small engine place in Ontario Canada seems to swear by it as it's applied to all blowers sold or serviced. I'm just researching what might work best in the auger/impeller area of my 7524 to prevent rust (already have some healthy scraped off paint where the impeller rotates, due to ingestion of ice chunks EOD) and help prevent impeller freezing, not to mention lessening snow sticking in the chute.

Thanks for the suggestions --penetrating oil/liquid wrench, etc., I'm just trying to cover the field before I apply anything. I don't suppose this would invalidate the warranty would it? And flammability. All of that stuff, penetrating oil, etc., is highly flammable. Is there any danger when applying it inside the shovel housing?

BTW I haven't had a problem w/my impeller freezing since I started running it 3-4 minutes before shutdown. Knock on wood and keep my fingers crossed. The behind-the-impeller-pancake even melted due to some warmer weather and it would probably be a good idea to get some lubricant into the area behind it before I use it gets coated again. Anyone that has used that stuff, please reply. Thanks.

I bought a can of Fluid Film from an auto supply depot and sprayed it onto the impeller and into the augar chute. Will be blowing snow tommorrow AM and see how good the stuff is. The can I got is an brown can, with the Fluid Film logo in the center, yellow and orange circle. The stuff stinks but is environmentally friendly. It seemed to leave a greasy layer of an oily substance where it was sprayed. Thicker than WD-40 or oil. I also run my augar 2-3 minutes before shutdown, and clean any residual snow if any. Since I leave my machine outside with a cover on it, don't want the impeller to freeze. I don't know if this is the same fluid film recommended to you as it does not have the word Eureka, but purchased in Canada, Halifax N.S. to be exact.
