This is for the Big Lick antique tractor show, Lawn & Garden tractor pulls and lumberjack competition. So you will have a full range of OPE to watch from chain saws to farm tractors. Here is a link for more info: http://www.biglick-festival-park.com/antique_tractor_show.htm

From bontaiJoe: I found this auction in Illinois of an auto service station being auctioned off including the collectable toys, Snap-On tools, some tractors and parts, and the inventory from a business that may have been there 40 or more years. Here is a link: http://www.aumannauctions.com/cgi-bin/mndetails.cgi?aumann13 . I can remember going to a hardware store auction about 20 years ago in Belvidere NJ. The store had been there for decades, maybe even 100 years, and the building was in bad shape so the owner decided to have an auction and demolish the building. They found "new" tools in the stockroom that were 50 or more years old still in the boxes, wrapped with that oily wax paper that old stuff seemed to always be wrapped in to prevent rust. An auction like this one will probably attract a lot of guys looking for tools, but there are other catagories of stuff in this one that may sell real cheap, like the collectable tractor toys, or the old tin signs on the walls, or the tractors. This is what I look for in an auction to go to, one with little treasures that the majority of folks going won't care about. I hope someone here is close enough to check this out, sorry about the short notice, but if anyone can stop by for this, please let me know how it was. Thanks.

I was at a small tractor show at the Westend Fairgrounds of Monroe County, PA over the weekend. Took some pics with my "analog" camera, so photos will be a few days coming back from the store. Hopefully they came out. This year's featured tractor was Allis Chalmers and they had a nice A-C garden tractor there with a front bucket loader, and a mid mounted grading blade. There was a very good country music band playing, good food at reasonable prices and it was only $2 to get in. The lovely Mrs. bontai an our daughter had as good a time as I did checking out the crafts for sale, and listening to the music. My music was the thumping of 60 plus year old tractors on display powering water pumps, a grist mill, a saw, and a hay baler among other ancient attachments. Here is their web site to see photos of past shows and check out their up coming event schedules: http://www.poconooldtyme.org/Years%20Past.htm And a photo from last year just to tease you with:

The McConnell tractor company is liquidating their entire inventory of tractors and equipment. They sell Chinese and Indian tractors under their own name. Also selling machine shop tools, steel inventory, attachments and more. Might be a good chance to get a VERY good deal on a compact utility tractor! Here is a link to the auction info site: http://www.teitsworth.com/mcconnell_manufacturing.htm And here is a link to the tractor model info: http://www.mcconnellmarctractors.com/
