Honda Hydrostatic

I recently purchased a used Honda Harmony 1011 riding mower. I looks and works like new. The Hydrostatic transmision makes a loud whine when changing direction or under load. Is this normal? Thanks, Eric

Probably old news, but the faster you move the hydro lever, the louder the noise. All normal. On another note, I need some easy help with your exact mower ( Honda Harmony 1011). I need a hydrostatic for mine, and my original is gone. Do you know the model number of the hydrostatic transaxle? It is a Hydro-gear, but I cant tell the model. Without it my mower isn't a mower. Any help appreciated. How do you like yours?
