Is the 2 acres reasonably flat established lawn? Lots of landscaping features to manuver around, or mostly open area? Anyone besides you gonna operate this mower? Will it be required to do other things. like snow removal? garden tilling? Have you owned a riding mower or tractor before? And what did you like and hate about it? What was you planned budget? And do you think you will enjoy the time spent mowing, or do you want to get it done as fast as possible? I'm sorry for all the questions, but it makes a big difference, say between suggesting a $9000 commercial Zero turn mower to blast out the job in 40 minutes, or a $2500 lawn tractor that will be slower to use, wife friendly, and cheaper to operate and maintain. Now with no info yet, but if I was looking at a 2 acre lawn, and possible snow removal, I'd probably be looking at garden tractors in the $2500-4000 range. I'll get more specific when I know more.

lawn is mostly flat , no snow removal , live in SE NC, I only use the mower, not to many trees to mowe around. looking for something with a constant speed. Looking at JD mowers because of reliability mostly

You've gotten good recommendations on ZTR mowers, and they would do a nice and quick job cutting your lawn. If a tractor is what you prefer, for whatever reason, I'd recommend the Cub Cadet SLT1554, or Deere LT180, or LT190, or Simplicity Broadmoor or Massey Ferguson 2600 (clone of Simplicity Broadmoor). If you are on a tighter budget and looking to keep the costs below $2000, then your choices are Deere "L" series, Cub 1000 series and Craftsman, and I'd probably recomment the Craftsman DYT4000, as the best value for the $$$$.
