Maintenance note: The winter oil (Citgo 5w30) came out of the lawn tractor today and the summer oil (Pennzoil straight 30) went in. I actually mowed four times with the winter oil in it and didn't notice any oil consumption at all. But it hasn't been all that warm, either. The oil was dirtier than I expected with only about 6-7 hours of operation on it. Am going to change it again in July.
At my present location, neither seed, feed nor sod is an option...so my lawn consists of whatever God provides. If allowed to grow unchecked, it would become a meadow with only wild grass, sand burrs and dandelions. We had a bumper crop of those yellow things this year. After mowing them down as fast as practicable, I've been wandering the yard multiple times every evening plucking out the ones I missed with the mower before they can go to seed. The neighbors must think I've lost it. I've even been grabbing at the floaters as they fly by. But I think it has helped. At least I'm getting some exercise.
