got the FS55RC model............... this thing runs alot stronger than my bigger cc Ryobi.......................... does the straight shaft transfer more power to the head than my Ryobi's curved shaft ? ....................... thanks to everyone for helping...................... bill PS.................. my wife wanted to buy me a $99 no name trimmer.................. it took a couple hours to explain to her the difference.................

Congrats on your purchase of a new Stihl Trimmer! I expect to see pics real soon now! Stihl trimmer engines are designed very well. The engines have horse power equivelent to a 4-cycle engine but with more RPM. For instance, my trimmer is the equivelent of a 2HP 4cycle engine. But I have more RPM than a 4-cycle engine lol. That Stihl trimmer will last you a long time with a little TLC guranteed...

I'd probably need a Multi-task one. I'd guess Stihl's are more heavy duty than Echo's line of the Pro-attachment series. Buying time is a long time off as I see it.
