I played with the Miele Blue Moon at a local shop. It runs quietly and worked well on the demo rugs. Swivel necks on the power brushes make them easy to steer, but they rattle and clunk more than they should over bumps. $1300 is a huge amount of money for a vacuum, but if you need a quiet powerhouse, it's one of a very few choices around.

a mystique / niche vac, blue moon costs twice in USA for what it sells for elsewhere. but unusually quiet and powerful thnx to unique Vortex motor. Filtrette bags and HEPA filter keep dirt in bag without clogging. Hose controls handy, but hose short. Powerbrushes vary a lot qualitywise (air leaks, noisy - check before taking home!), but easy to manuever. Vac itself is heavy, castors drag a bit on rugs, accessories chinzy for price of vac. Be careful with cord - power reel can damage cord if pulled hard or allowed to rewind by self.
If you want quiet powerful cleaner Blue is good choice so long as you aren't really rough on vac.
