Replace the belt - we recommend replacing "stretchable" belts every six months - even if the machine sits in the closet the entire time, the belts will stretch out.

You certainly can switch your system out for a bagged machine. We personally recommend the Modern Day brand. Check out their website - they also have a dealer locator there to find a local shop that can advise.

First - I own a vacuum shop, so my opinions are a tad biased.  :)

While there are a lot of choices out there, the decision will be based on two factors.

1. Machine style preference. E.I. Electric broom/upright or Canister. What type of machine do you prefer?
2. Budget. Everyone has one If you are only spending < $200, then an electric broom is a good way to go.

If you are going to buy an electric broom, personally, I really like the Fuller Brush.

If you would prefer a canister (my recommendation if for no other reason than versatility), then I would be looking at the SEBO K2 or the Simplicity Wonder.

I should mention that both systems have good quality rubberized wheels that will not scuff or scratch. Both have excellent suction. The SEBO does have a much better filteration system and  it does use disposable bags whereas the Fuller Brush is a dump-out bagless system.

Simplicity and Riccar are the same company, but you have to buy from a local store. Here is their dealer locator:

Hope this gets you pointed in the right direction!
