looks like the gas cap is ported so it should be getting air into it. I think i am going to have to get dirty and try and get into the carb. How much outer shell of the motor am i going to have to remove to get at the carb?

So my Toro 724 seems to have a problem after all. It's been the first snowfall since i had the problems with the slush, (where my machine was stalling out) So i passed it off that the machine was bogging in the slush. But today i had a nice fluffy. just about 5inches of snow and it was doing the same thing i could go for about 20ft and it stalls out. After playing around with the choke i noticed that when i opened the choke halfway the machine ran pretty normally, and i was able to finish the driveway. But the second I close off that choke the machine starts to die out, and eventually stalls. I added some Seafoam today to my gas tank a few ounces, to help clean out some stuff as i ran it anyone have any ideas?. |

Yes Borat! Definately a used machine! It is a 1981 so definately past the break in period! I will most definately grab some synth 5w-30 oil for her immediately! Can i add sea foam to the synth oil as well? By the way borat good link you added, put that right in my favorites, Thank You! mike |

We get anywhere from 60 to 90 inches here, this year we are having a record year however, with totals of over 50inches already. We just bought a house this fall and the first five snowfalls killed me using the old shovel method, so i had to pick up a snowblower. I picked up that Toro for a reasonable price and it has been a lifesaver so far. I now have the energy to rake the roof off and cut paths around the house to wood pile etc... So you use a synthetic, but is it a standard sae10w30 like motor oil, or is there a specific motor oil desingned for the small engine? how much oil does a typical snowblower hold in it's reservoir? |
