Title: Sebo Airbelt C3.1 Canister Vacuum Question ... Post by D.E.P. on 05/20/07 at 9:41pm Good Evening, The only thing I really hate about my Sebo C3.1 Canister Vacuum is the triangle shapped dusting brush - The bristles are too soft and end up being pulled into the opening, blocking the opening and causing a huge dust ball to form as you clean. I can not seem to find another dusting brush to fit the end of the hose handle - Is this hose end a unique size to Sebo ??? If so, does anyone make an adapter to allow you to use 1-1/4" or 35mm standard tools ???? Can anyone tell me what size the hose end is ??? Thanks, Dan

Post by vacuuman on 05/24/07 at 1:15am The Sebo uses a metric sized hose end, so does Miele, you could use a Miele dusting brush, buy a generic type replacement (which are difficult to find), or buy a special adapter.  Your best bet is to either call around, or search online.  There are other options than the Sebo brush.

Post by VacOMatic on 05/26/07 at 7:27pm Miele and Sebo both get their basic airhoses from the same supplier, Plastiflex.  Their handle and wand fittings vary somewhat, though. Sebo's C.3.1 tools (or at least the ones I have seen) lock on to the end of the wand, while Miele uses friction fit. Should also add the Miele round dusting brush has exactly the same problem as the Sebos - its brushes get sucked into the brush center and drastically cut air flow.

Post by D.E.P. on 05/26/07 at 11:01pm Well, I have been to the three largest vacuum shops in my area, and none of the three could find a dusting brush to fit the Sebo Hose - We tried the Miele Tools and they did not fit... Nor did anything else they had in the store, so I guess this will be going up on the e-bay auction block as well - It is a shame beucase they are good Vacuums, but have very poor dusting tools... I have only used it for a total of about 2-3 hours for just that reason... Thanks for the help, Dan

Post by Carmine_Difazio on 05/27/07 at 7:11am Hello Dan: Are any of these 3 vacuum cleaner stores authorized SEBO dealers?  Did you purchase your SEBO AirBelt 3.1 from a bricks and mortar store/Web? The condition you describe for the dusting brush is very common for "cheaply" made tools.  I can't help but think SEBO dealers have an inexpensive solution that would work for this.   Carmine D.

The Only Soludtion they had was a larger Sebo "Triangle" dusting brush, which is the exact same brush that is stored on the canister, only "Larger" - It suffered from the same problem... They all told me there is no adapter available like with Miele... I have not given up yet, But I am close... The whole reason I buy canisters is to be able to use the Dusting Brush... Dan

When you say the dusting brush SEBO dealers proposed is larger can you be more specific:  Are the bristles the same length, shorter, longer?  Softer hair/stiffer than the one that collapsed? Post by old-timer on 05/27/07 at 10:51am Please correct me if im wrong,but doesnt sebo,bosch,miele,short attachments all interchange,they all have the 38mm wands,maybe the wands are different?.Some attachments lock on some dont,most dusting brushes on the german stuff is friction held. Is the sebo dust brush suppose to work on the hose end or the wands,does the dusting brush come off at a weird angle,ran into this problem years ago. There is an adapter ,a metal one that converts the 1'' 3/8 to 1''1/4. The best dust tool out there is still the lux above the floor tool.They still use the rubber lip [no scrathing].weve have converted this attachment to fit miele and bosch,the customers love it.I really dont see why it wouldn't work on the sebo also...  O.T.

Post by Mike_W. on 05/28/07 at 12:14pm The SEBO uses a different sized diameter attachment compared to other European machines.  You will not find an adaptor for it, yet.  If the brand becomes more popular, I believe you will find adaptors. SEBO uses both snap on attachments and friction-fit. I have not found the SEBO dusting brush to be too bad.  Lint, etc. can get caught in the center, but the tool's bristles are soft.  Compare it w/ some other brands like Fuller Brush, HOOVER, dyson, Panasonic uprights,etc. and you will find that SEBO has a softer brush. A good brush will use long, natural-hair bristles that are spaced far apart from the attachment's suction inlet.  This inlet, that keeps the bristles out of the way, should also be made out of a soft material.  Another plus would be that the whole attachment would be made out of a soft material.  This can be found on the deluxe Eureka dusting brush that first came out in the late 50's.  The Electrolux combination tool is also very good.  The Filter Queen and Royal dusting brush also fit the bill for a very good brush.  The Kenmore/Panasonic canister dusting brush has also done very well.  Panasonic has since downsized the brush and made it a combination tool.

Would this be the same fit as some of the sanitaire 782/785 uprights were as the tools fit on the inside of the coupling,seems like it's an oddball also. If someone out there knows the inside diameter of the hose end then maybe it can be converted from metric to u.s. standard. Can anyone help out? Thanks  O.T.

Post by Mike_W. on 05/30/07 at 4:06am The dusting brush is female end to the male hose end and it is friction-fit.  The floor brush is different from the SEBO canister's dusting brush, upholstery tool and crevice tool, because it snaps onto the hose or wand end.  A buttom must be pushed to release the floor brush.
