An update as the BlueMoon got added to my vac stack and has done well. Its vortex motor seems to move more air and has higher suction than any other cannister I have tried, yet it runs quietly. The filtrette bags insert easilly and have protection shields to prevent puncture from incomming glass or metal. Wand controls are handy but can be a little slow responding. Accessories seem relatively cheaply made, but work well (save for round brush which inhales its bristles at full suction). The parquette brush is amply haired and works well on bare floors.

For powerbrushes you can choose the 217 series that is relatively gentle to rugs and (thanks to rubber seal strip) works decently on bare floors, or the more aggressive 236 which runs relatively quietly and has heigth adjustment but works best on carpet. Both brushes are protected by motor cutouts.
