Stunning Synergy

The new Simplicity Synergy upright is a stunning vacuum cleaner. At first glance, the machine looks like the front end of a luxury car; with its 6 LED lights shining its bluish tint.
The Synergy has some very impressive features like a belt that will last the life of the machine. It also has a very good brushroll overload protection system. When something like a sock gets caught in the brushroll, the vacuum is not going to continue running; burning a belt or something worse. The motor stops immediately. The machine comes with a long cord. This is very important for any household who does not want to continually plug the vacuum into outlet after outlet. The direct air motor shuts off automatically when the handle is in the upright position. The motor can also be shut off when cleaning floors without the rotating brushroll.
The Simplicity does very well when cleaning carpeting. It uses a metal brushroll with replaceable brush strips. It does a very good job of pulling the nap of the carpeting up. To put more control in your hands when adjusting the brushroll height, the Synergy has a manual height adjustment. This is good if you are vacuuming carpeting and do not want the height as low as it is in the AUTO mode.
The Synergy comes equipped with onboard tools. What is different with this modelís attachment use compared to the 7 series is that the Synergy has a ìquickdrawî hose/wand feature. This is great when you need the suction of the wand to pick up debris in the corner. All one needs to do is pull the hose/wand from the upright, pick up the debris, then return the wand to the vacuum. There is no bending required with the Synergy. Bending and squatting is required when accessing the hose feature of some uprights like some Panasonic uprights, Sharp, Simplicity, Riccar, etc. The wand is also metal instead of common plastic found on most uprights.
The Synergy has much better filtration compared to other Simplicity uprights. It uses a higher grade bag, which utilizes ìFiltete-typeî material. Added filtration comes from the addition of a high filtration exhaust filter in a sealed system.
This new Simplicity is not going to be the quietest around, but it is not the noisiest either. The ìcleanairî motor is not bad at all, but the vacuumís noise can increase when the Synergy is engaged in carpet cleaning mode. The Synergy is going to be a little bit noisier than the lower level 7 series uprights from Simplicity.
In conclusion, Iíd like to say that this is a very fine vacuum cleaner. It will perform superbly for anyone. Time will tell how well the vacuum cleaner holds up, since it uses a different technology than other vacuum cleaners. If the price is too much, a cheaper 7 series upright, like the 7850, would clean very well. It will also be a little bit quieter also. Since Simplicity and Riccar are owned by the same company, Tacony Corp., the Synergy can also be found under the Riccar nameplate.
