2 1/2" shop vac hoses

I have a Ridgid shop vac but HATE the awfully stiff plastic ridged 2 1/2" diameter hose! It doesn't flex very well (VT2520) So I bought a WoodRiver 2 1/2" diameter hose (its a bit longer but VERY flexible & wire reinforced) However when I 'seal off' the suction, the hose length shrinks & the vac gets too close to me when I'm vacing. This hose reminds me of my old Craftsman shop vac Then I bought the Ridgid VT2570 4X Pro hose (orange) Its actually 1 7/8" diameter, so if I put the 2 1/2" coupling & vacuum large items (sheetrock pieces or leaves) the hose will clog because the 2 1/2" coupling 'bottlenecks' into the 1 7/8" hose Does anyone here know if there are better 2 1/2" (64MM) diameter shop vacuum hoses? One that is flexible & doesn't shrink its length; because the hose that came with the Ridgid vac is JUNK
