For some strange reason, MIELE USA has decided their "Dynamic Drive" casters are not to be used on their top end USA canister vacuums such as the Brilliant or older UniQ. 
Only the Miele Alize appears to have them.
The dynamic drive casters dramatically improve and quiet vacuum travel over rough flooring.

Those casters are present on Miele Brilliant canisters sold overseas.

Fortunately, the dynamic drive casters appear to be retro-fitable to most Miele cannisters.

Apparently this oddity is still true -  top end Miele cannisters save the Alize still use regular rubber castors.
