Using a 220V, 50Hz Dyson in 120V, 60Hz power.. Yay or Nay?
Original Message   Jul 8, 2015 5:12 pm
I got my folk's Dyson DC-25 which is rated for 220V, 50Hz at 1200W. I found some voltage transformers that would let me convert to 110/120V operation but will running it on 60Hz power cause any issues? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

A difference of 10 Hz isn't going to hurt your vacuum. In Japan, the eastern side of the country has 100V/50Hz power while the western side has 100V/60Hz power. The same appliances work equally well on either side of Japan. Heaters and hair dryers are the appliances that seem to be affected most by a difference in frequency.
