There are a few of decent vacuum cleaners under $200 price range. This includes Electrolux Ergorapido Power - model EL2040A, Hoover Cordless CH20110 if you are interested in cordless vacuums and Panasonic MC-UG323. Also, if you are willing to increase your budget slightly above 200$, there is Electrolux Precision Bagless Upright - model EL8807A, https://www.the-vacmaster.ca/electrolux/electrolux-precision-bagless-upright-model-EL8807A which is a very good cordless vacuum for its price. I agree with CountVacula about the fact that most cheap vacuums will compromise on suction power and performance. But it doesn't mean they are all bad ones. Some of them are really good for their low price.

200$ is quite a price for a vacuum. Usually people look for those that are 100 or below. You have a lot of choice, maybe if you are lucky, you can squeeze some dyson or miele with discount. Otherwise Hoover is pretty good for this price range. Its solid brand with solid products.

Dyson and Hoover are not well made. Hoovers like the old Dimension 1000 canisters and their stout Powerdrive uprights used to be quality machines but once TTI bought them and moved production out of UK, Australia and the US to China things got awfully cheap. Dyson build quality has never justified their high prices, and their filters tend to clog very quickly. You are paying for hype with a Dyson. You can read my critiques of Miele elsewhere but they are not even close to being worth what they charge for them. No vacuum made is worth more than $600 but Miele will nick you double that or more. The prices for high end vacuums are just a lot of profit taking. You can buy a brand new Panasonic MC-CG902 from Panasonic's on line store for $195. This is a full sized and full power canister vacuum, really the last of the old school canisters. It is basically a first generation Kenmore Progressive vacuum from the late 1980s with much better plastics (thicker and more compliant than the hard squeaky plastics used on that generation of Kenmore) and the motor is much better, shared with the prior generation Kenmore Elite Intuition and Panasonics other full sized canisters. It has a full 500 air watts. Big power, competitive with the very best from Aerus, Miele or Lindhaus, and more than any Sebo I'm aware of. Four old fashioned full sized attachments exactly like those Sears sold with their machines from the mid 1980s until the mid 2000s. No computers or PC boards anywhere, just a simple hard wired circuit and a universal relay that likewise first showed up on mid 1980s Kenmore vacuums (Panasonic bought out Whirlpools vacuum business from Kenmore in 1995 and inherited their designs and patents in the process, so a lot of Kenmore DNA is carried over in modern Panasonic vacuums). No computerized nonsense to fail expensively. Filters and dust bags are humanely priced (even some of the cheap Bissell and Hoover plastivacs have stunningly expensive HEPA filters, no wonder I see so many vacuums ruined by clogged and blown out filters) so no excuses for not changing them regularly. With regular filter and bag changes it is a machine that will last you 15 to 20 years of regular use.

BISSELL 9595A Vacuum is best choice. It is light weight and suction is powerful. You can get this vacuum for $71.

If you want a good vacuum cleaner—nothing fancy—and you don’t mind replacing it in five years, we recommend a bagless, plug-in upright vacuum. (We have a couple of recommendations in our guide to the best upright and canister vacuums.) A bagless upright vacuum that costs between $150 and $200 is a great fit for most American (and Canadian) homes, with any number of floors, any number of pets, and almost any kind of wood, tile, or carpeting. The best bagless uprights are about 80 percent as effective as the very strongest plug-in vacuums, for about 40 percent of the price. They’ll last much longer than the total cheapo models. Compared with cordless vacuums, they cost half as much, clean better, and can last at least twice as long (about five to seven years). They tend to be better designed than similarly priced canister vacuums, and are much more convenient than bagged vacuums, which also have recurring costs and don’t offer much upside at this price.

your best bet is to choose some vacuum from shark (NV501) or else bissell(symphony pet). these two companies are good under $200 dollars.
