Competition for ORECK's Halo: Yes and no. Recall SEVERUS that ORECK bought the halo rights from Nick Garcia whose company went belly up in just 9 months. At the time there were 2 halo models for sale: One with and one without attachments on board. AFter the purchase ORECK scrubbed the model without attachments, probably to avoid competition with ORECK uprights. ORECK sells only the model with attachments on board. The Pur-A-Tron model doesn't have attachments on board and is just the stand alone upright. A reason in part for the lower price than ORECK's halo too.
