This comes from the COSTCO web site. Won't find Metro on the vacuums page for COSTCO. Not sure the reason. Have to input the name metro hand vacuum and search.Ironically these specs are more inclusive than the metro web site. Decent price too at $59.95. Clearly as Vernon said paper bags. 120V, 500 watts of power with a new state of the art fan enclosed motor (110 volts at 4.5 amps) the 500 series produces 60" of water lift (sealed suction measurement) yet weighs around 2.7 lbs. Pound for pound, the most powerful Hand Vac on the planet. All steel construction; Stainless Steel Finnish. Best of all it's MADE IN THE USA! Accessories:

Hi Turtle: Not sure yet. Have to wait to see. I use an old HOOVER Swingette [now called porta power] from the 70's for vacuuming the dog and the work bench in garage. It has one full horse power as opposed to the metro with .75 HP. My SIL needs a hand held for the cars. With 3 girls 6 and under and another on the way, lots of stuff in the vehicles after trips. The metro should be just what the car doctor orders. Carmine D.

FYI, I have what seems to be an older version of this, it's called the "Metro Vac N' Go" model, (manufacturer's link: http://www.metrovacworld.com/Shopping/product.asp?catalog_name=metrovac&product_id=VACNGO), and it's one compelling feature is it runs off a 12V vehicle power connector, and is 'fairly powerful' in doing that. 'Fairly Powerful' is all relative, a high end vac would put this to shame, but for 12V it does the job of picking up dust and loose pieces of dirt and debris. I like the model I got because the manufacturer had a nice assortment of mini small nozzles and crevice tools available ($8 US for small kit) that reach in to tight spaces in a vehicle. I also got some 4 foot extension hoses to make it easier to use. In fact, I likes it so much I got a second one for a second vehicle. This website (http://www.office1000.com/discount/vacuum-cleaners-automotive.html) sells most Metro Vacs at nice reasonable discounts off list, but I do not see the newer Metropolitan 500 model listed yet, nor do I see the 12V version of the 500 Model on the manufacturer's website yet (http://www.metrovacworld.com).

Vacuum history: -- Electrolux 1205 (ran for 28 years, then it needed a new hose and replacement wand!); -- Metropolitan Vacuum Cleaner "Vac N Go Hand Vac", 12V (auto power) mini canister x2 -- Miele LEO.
