With Costco and Sam's Club selling Rug Doctor home cleaning systems, I wondered if anyone had any experience with these. If I remember correctly the Rug Doctor gets a Bronze rating from the Carpet and Rug Institute. The gold standard will always be the truck/van powered steam cleaning systems, but just wondered.

I've rented the red Mighty Pack model for many years now, and I will never use any other machine. The only way to get even better results than with the Rug Doctor is going with a professional carpet cleaning service. As memory serves me correctly, the Rug Doctor Mighty Pro (blue retail version of the red Mighty Pack) is the only consumer carpet cleaner recommended by the Carpet and Rug Institute, and with good reason. The Rug Doctors oscillating brush is far more aggressive than anything else available from a consumer grade machine, and its water lift puts every other machine to shame. IMO, it makes all other consumer deep cleaners look like toys. Are you looking into buying or renting?
