Oneida County, NY . . .
Original Message   Feb 26, 2009 10:17 am
Has anyone heard of state government programs that allow for the lending of specialty vacuums for the clean-up of hazardous material?  I know the use of HEPA vacuums was encouraged for clean-up in around ground zero here in New York afte 9/11 but I have no recall of any being lent to private citizens.  Anyway, upstate New York folks are pretty neighborly and I guess that's reflected in government too.  See the following link . . .

Have a good'un,

Hello Venson:

As I recall, the HEPA filter/bag concept was an outgrowth of the a multi-government agency effort called the Manhattan Project, which many of the old timers are familiar with from having lived through it.

Many vacuum makers used HEPA long before MIELE did, yet some [more] seem to associate HEPA with MIELE due to the HEPA ratings which are European grown measures/standards.
