A backpack? Yes on three, no four conditions.
1) there is nothing thicker that glue-down level loop to deal with as far as carpeting
2) the unit selected is a straight suction, s-wand, 1 1/2" diam hose
3) the users are given a class in how to use and maintain the unit
4) the destruction or damage of the unit results in dismissal of the user(s)
The use of an S-wand in the correct manner does take a bit of practice. According to the Pro-Team website, there are a lot of believers and converts to the back pack approach
