 Well, Tacony is finally coming out w/ a new Midsize canister.  This is a vacuum cleaner that will be unique, which means no other brand(other than Riccar and Simplicity) will have it.  This was not true of the previous midsize canisters.

The Midsize canister will have design features of their much successful fullsize canisters.  They are continuing w/the power nozzle that performs very well on carpeting.

What is new is that their motor warranty is a big 7yrs like Miele.  The general warranty on this canister is still longer though.

Filtration is now better on this machine as compared to the S18, S20, S24/R1500S, 1500M, 1500P.

Thanks for the heads-up.  Is the machine you're mentioning the Simplicity Verve?  If not, how long do you think it will be before the new machine appears on either Riccar or Simplicity's website.

Yes, the new Simplicity is the Verve.  Riccar's version is the Pristine.  What Tacony does is take turns introducing new products w/each brand.  Simplicity has this one on the internet first, Riccar had the new version "8lb." upright and Simplicity had the premium canister, for example.  Both brands have the midsize canister available now  eventhough only one brand has it on their website.

  

Tacony is really dding new vacuums to their line, and dropping a few of the older designs.  So far I like what they have been coming out with, my fvorite beeing the new Radiance Premium.  I have seen the new midsize, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. 

I wanted to add that these new midsize canisters are very easy to move around the room, since they are smaller than their full sized siblings.
