Oreck ratings withdrawn by Moody . . .
Original Message   Jul 25, 2007 1:45 pm
Hi everyone,

This Oreck story is about 11 hours old per Alta Vista's news page but I though I'd pass it on.  Link is below.

Also, here is another link to a news item regarding a rather peculiar occurence that may be something to think about regarding vacuum cleaner safety issues.  A vacuum's bag caught fire while left and turned off overnight after cleaning up polyurethane residue on a newly sanded floor.  Has anyone heard of spontaneous combution occuring in a vacuum bag before?  The story seems to infer that the fire was due to some sort of chemical reaction.

Venson,

I've seen the aftermath when painters rags had Spontaneous Combusted in a trash dumpster catching a nearby palm tree on fire too.  It happened at night, at a house being remodeled.  Painters or hardwood floor refinishers (I can't remember) had disposed of their rags in this trash dumpster.
