Well...an interesting turn of events. My husband sat down yesterday with the parts person at a local John Deere dealership and learned that in fact all of the parts we need are still available. Seems it may have been a mis-communication between him and the previous parts person he dealt with.

The challenge now is to try to assess how much money is not too much to put into the repairs for this 30 year old, well-cared for machine... The sprocket (another worn part he discovered) apparently only comes as a complete assembly for $219!

Thanks again,
M

Thank you for your post. My husband is going to go to the John Deere dealership parts counter tomorrow to look at the online catalogue and ensure he obtains the right part number. I will pass it along as soon as I have it.

In the meantime, as Murphy's Law goes...it never stops snowing!

Grins,
M
Parts search for an older John Deere 1032 snowblower

Hi Everyone,

I appreciate your help.

My husband and I have been coaxing along an older snow blower for sentimental reasons - it belonged to my late grandfather. He bought it when they moved off the farm, then passed away shortly after. It's been well maintained for the 15 years we've owned it. The problem is, now we need a part for it and our local John Deere dealership tells us the part is no longer available, and that they are unaware of any jobber who carries something that would work.

The part is a small bushing that the John Deere parts fellow was able to look up the number for with our serial number.

Can you direct me please to where I might find this part?

With thanks,
M
