The grooves that are located 180 degrees apart on the Miele brushrolls are handy for cutting debris that wraps around it during use. You can either use scissors or gently use a utility knife to cut the threads along the grooves to aid in removal of the debris. I very rarely have to do this with my SEB236 nozzle but it comes in handy when the need arises. After cutting the threads I usually turn the vacuum on full power along with the brush roll to help dislodge and vacuum the debris off the brush roll.

Looks like you're one of the lucky ones to already have one of these vacuums! From what I've read on the S7, the bags are suppose to be huge. I'm surprised you're going through this many so quickly? The availability of bags should improve over time since this is a new model cleaner.

There are several improvements including a 12 volt battery, an improved brush/roll and advanced filter system. The brush roll has much heavier brushes verse the combo rubber strip and wimpy soft brush of the old Pronto 2 in 1. The brush roll assembly now removes quicker with a snap of a single button. No coin slot to rotate like on the Pronto.

The filter assembly now  has a spring loaded plunger you grasp and pull up to help dislodge debris that gets caught between the nylon mesh and fine filter. I haven't had a chance to fully charge it yet but I can tell you it has substantially more suction and larger fan than the Pronto. Suction is double of the old model.. even without a full charge yet!  

The color is now a gun metal metallic. One nice touch is soft ergo non-slip rubber material on the rear of the handle. The vac still separates from the stick for use like a dust-buster... except the switch has been improved from the old momentary spring loaded type to a constant on switch. Nice touch! The dust bin also removes easily with rubberized grips that depress and unlock for improved removal. Since it now moves substantially more air, additional venting has been added to the rear of the power unit in addition to increasing the front venting as well. 

Almost forgot, it now has two accessory tools, i.e. a separate crevice and dusting brush that each independently snap into the end of the intake opening. The tools store right inside the charging dock. The two speed switch is now a rocker type instead of a slider. You'll also note the fan depth and intake opening are double that of the Pronto for improved suction and air flow.  Very nice unit!

So far I'm very impressed with this new updated model and the color change is refreshing over that nasty burnt orange I never liked.

I've had bad luck with the HF6 from the motor brushes sticking to the exhaust filter retainer clip breaking off. The HEPA filter is thinner and smaller than Miele's and does not seal well, allowing exhaust air to bypass the filter. Very poor design! The canister clips that attach the motor housing to the can fall off all the time.  I've even had problems with the vacuum switch/bag full indicator light malfunctioning. Noise levels are "considerably" louder as well. 

I was happy to see that Lindhaus finally upgraded and made available a high efficiency filtrete type bag. But even with the upgraded bags, the suction and airflow are nowhere near what the Miele produces. I consider the HF6 a disaster for Lindhaus since their other machines are so nice. It does make a nice shop vac and have left it in the garage. That's about all it's good for.

Can't wait for the new Miele S7 uprights to appear. My local dealer is expecting them the middle of October.

I believe it may have been me that mentioned some time ago that hair was protruding through the first generation IntensiveClean bags. Since the newest IntensiveClean Plus bags came out, the problem has been eliminated. They now have reinforcement material right below the intake of the bag (the area most prone to damage from incoming debris).

The IntensiveClean Plus bags are the best I've seen in any vacuum on the market at retaining fine dust with almost no air flow restriction... even when nearly 100% full. It amazes me how clean the bag compartment stays, bag after bag.
