If I where in your position  I would, contact Ariens  and get your money back!!!!!!!! You paid $2000.00 .

Don't let another day go bye, Do you want to deal with this problem every time you use it . Time is running out. Don't live with buyers remorse you paid $2000.00

I live in the twin cities and we go a pretty good snowstorm over Christmas (3 days of snow ,sleet and rain).

Iv'e been helping my neighbor keep his driveway clear for a number of year and he has a snowblower similar to mine, a simplicity 6hp.

I had just finished clearing both my driveway then his, and my impeeler chain snapped, and bent the chain.

I went over to talk with my neighbor to make a proposition, I would be willing to continue to help him keep his driveway clear if I could take the chain off of his snowblower that has not been running in many many years.

HE SAID YES. What are the odds of that (finding replacement parts right across the street for a snowblower that's around 40 years old. So I put his chain on my snowblower and it runs like a swiss watch

I'm so happy that I did not have to go out and buy a new machine, Iv'e been looking at Ariens and simplicity and have not been happy with what I have seen

So my proposition worked well for both me and my neighbor. I got my simplicity up and running  and my neighbors driveway will also be clear.

 It pays to help your neighbors.!!!

You seem to be the go-to guy for Ariens questions.
Do you work for,or represent the Ariens company?
I am planning on buying 2009 Ariens 921012 ST27LE over the Slimplicity L1226E for the reasons you stated in my earlier post.Is the 921012 ST27LE the same machine as the Deluxe 27?

I've seen this snow blower advertised on a web site www.snowblowersdirect.com , but no where else, not even the Ariens dealers.Is this machine made strictly for them ?.It's the same as the Deluxe 27(which has a 249cc. engine), but this one has the 305cc.engine for around $150.00 more. I like the idea of more ft.-lbs,torque,but am consurned why the local Ariens dealer do not carry it.
Also I would rather but from a local dealer as opposed to buying on-line (no service center)
any help or comments would be appreciated Thanks

I'm going to buy a new snowthrower this month. I have looked at several brands and have cut the list down to the simplicity L1226E or the Ariens Deluxe 27 ( models are 2009)but have not limited my search to only these two models and are open to suggestions of any others. Both are priced @ $999.oo for a couple more weeks, or so they say. The Ariens Deluxe 27 offers the "easy turn" on the drive , which the simplicity does not offer at that prcie. Simplicity offers that feature on their L1428E( which also has a motor w/13.50 ft-lbs gross torque for around $1250.00
I am a current owner of a 1970's model simplicity 6hp that has preformed very very well over the years that I have owned it. I bought it used almost 20 years ago and do not want to put any more money into it's up-keep/maintanance.
Any feedback would be of great help,/peace of mind
