If you want to sell the differential assembly in your ST824 let's talk, It looks like we both have the same machine, however you need the power train and i need the drivetrain.

If your interested shoot me a email.

All i need is the center case, my augers, handles top end are all in good condition, the bolts on mine stripped out and so i can't engage the clutch. This was due to the shaft bearing freezing up.

Let meknow

thanks,

KZ

OK, this sounds crazy but i was in a similar predicament with a seal i needed for a hydraulic jack, yeah i know it's not a snow blower but i couldn't find the seal to repair the bottle. I never crawled under the vhl i was lifting while using this jack but i trusted it enough to hold the weight of the car up until i could slide in a car jack stand...the solution i used for the plastic coffee can lid, i just traced it out to the side i needed, used a compass to score the plastic evenly and there i had it a perfect seal. It lasted about 5 more years....the larger size coffee can lid should have a circumfence large enough for what you are looking for. If you don't have a compass, use a realy sharp razor or exacto knife to cut it out.  Hope this helps.

When all else fails...use duct tape

Ok, here's the deal. I have an older ST824 in which the drive assembly finally went out. The drive spindle housing bolts stripped out due to the bearing seizing in the sleve. Now when i took it all apart, the shaft with bearing would slide by hand. I have been told a couple of different things. The first one being that i have to replace the whole assembly and it costs about 125-150.00 bucks. not a big deal. But do i really need it?I was wondering if i can direct bolt the assembly where the bolts stripped out of? this housing is aluminum and the threads were on the bolts.

Or does anyone have an st824 who knows their drive assembly is good and may want to sell it reasonably?

Thanks,

Ken
