Re: The Perfect Gas Can?

Once again, Thanks to the people from California for screwing it up for the other 49 states. If I remember correctly weren't they the same ones that started the mess with Automotive emissions? Remember how simple cars USED to be to work on? You opened the hood and could actually see the engine!!

It's not really a lag, what happens in a digital readout is it needs a consistent signal to display. During acceleration the signal changes too fast to display with most inexpensive tachs. The more expensive tachs. require fewer "samples" to display a reading. Analog tachs. actually show real time sampling readings on the meter as they happen, but the true accuracy may not be there.
Re: Any harm to lower ratio of gas:oil ratio?

Too much oil won't do much other than make a big blue cloud, But if you didn't add ANY oil the first time and mix @ 100/1 the engine is toast. I would dump the can (in the car) and mix fresh.

40 years ago when I was in small engine class it was called the "Tecumseh gallop". It was so common back then they had a name for it. The carbs were junk back then. Some things never change. Thy soaking the carb and blowing it out after.

The box being wet would not bother me as much as being ripped open. They may have speared it with a forklift. The fact that the driver would not wait for you to open & inspect for damage should also be reported.
