JD 1332PE Pro/B&S 1650 Snow Max has Snow Shoot Issue?
#1   Jan 3, 2010 10:27 am
Hey guys...

Looking to see if anyone else has had my type of issue.

I brought home a new John Deere 1332 PE Pro Snowthrower yesterday and promplty took it back.

On my first run after unloading it...I found that the hinge = where the adjustable (Up & Down) section meets the snow shoot leaked snow like a water fountain.

Snow was being thrown out back in my face...Yahoo!  My wife had a good laugh, myself not so much.  I tried it a few more times obviously, but it just kept on happening...the more the snowthower engaged in deeper snow, the more the fountain of snow coming out inbetween and around the hinged flowed...I acutally took a video of it on my phone to show the dealer (I would post it if I could)...and they all had a good laugh.  It was so obvious in the video that snow was coming out in three different directions = out the shoot and in two places around the hinge...the snow up here is very dry and small crystaled this time of year...as in no good for snowballs at all...and I say this as I don't think it would be an issue if it was the wet moist stuff we get in the Spring.  The bigger problem is the snow is being thrown back over the engine and there was nothing but steam and melting snow freezing all over the engine and console.

Too say the least...I left it back at the dealer an hour after I picked it up...they told me they had no other complaints like mine...but they would check it out.

Has anyone had an issue with snow being thrown out around the hinge like described above?

I think the set up is the same as on Simplicity but not sure...any issues like this of any kind?

Thanks and let me know...

Dizzy
