Re: Ariens hydro pro track vrs Honda 28 in track blower
#1   Jan 14, 2013 10:21 pm
Hello,

MY ariens isn't a hydro so I don't know how they steer. When I bought mine the regular ariens track drive had a L head tecumsah (sp)  no hand warmers and it did have the handle bar triggers to disengage one track to help it turn. I guess I have the HD model? OHV briggs, hand warmers, etc. Mine has the knob on the right side to lock both tracks for serious pushing but otherwise it works like a diff. and if you lift up on the handlebars when you are turning it turns pretty well. If you have the track locked in the up position you can turn it with one hand, if you have it locked on the ground it is harder. Hope that helps?

Re: New Toros single stage

I just bought a toro 621E as I wanted the electric start. Haven't had much snow yet in northern minnesota but I have used it twice on lighter snow falls. I had a honda 521 recoil before this one. The toro is quieter running than the honda was. The honda did blow the snow farther than the toro. The toro will pull itself along nicley where the honda never felt that way. I use a toro 3650 two stroke at work and I would have to say I like the 621 better. I'm not taking anything away from the 3650 as we have used it where we shouldn't of and it just keeps right on running and running. I do like the electric start on the new one, glad I got it.
SNAPPER SNOWBLOWERS ?

They are having a big sale on snapper snowblowers now, I think they have a few from last year. Anyway, does snapper make their own products or are they made now by someone else for them? They have pretty good prices on the "24" cut two stage models.

Thanks guys. I kind of thought 600 was a little high, maybe I will watch and see if it comes down shortly or not. I beleive the guy was the original owner.

I was wondering about that as when I tried to look them up it seemed they haven't been made for ahwile now. I haven't seen this is person yet, just pics he sent but it looks real good in the pics. Is it worth 600.00? He said it was 1500.00 new which sounds a bit high.
