I really like this snowblower. It replaced a 7 to 8 year old Craftsman 2 stage that had a 9hp Tecumseh. The Toro is just as capable and SO much easier to maneuver. I don't feel beat up after using it like I did the 2 stage.
Power is good and I installed a tachometer/hour-meter and properly set the RPM's to 4000 (no load). Purchased it on Snowblowers direct instead of an OPE dealer due to price and availability online. Had I purchased it from a OPE dealer I'm sure they would have set the RPMs for me, but I'm capable and did so myself.

Strong 2 stroke motor. Low maintenance! Light! Looks great after shining it up with furniture polish! Stores easily! Simple design!

Very capable single stage machine. Will move more snow than you'd expect for this type of machine. Toro are the leader in SS snow blowers. Build quality is very good and if you can get one for less than $600.00, it's an excellent deal. Too bad the two cycle SS machines will no longer be manufactured. They're a great combination of power, weight and effectiveness.
If you can't find a new one, buy a used one. You'll be glad you did.
