Ryobi 725r Trimmer Review

I bought this trimmer 4 years ago for my services. It allways ran good, but was not that pleased. Here is my review.

This trimmer is low quality, made to break. The engine that it has is a 31cc. You mix regular gas at a 32:1 ratio. It is hard to start because there is no centrificul clutch on it. Meaning, as you pull the rope, so does the head. After its warmed up, will start first pull. But once started, this thing runs like a beast. Lots of power, cuts well. Its a automatic head, that means it automaticly feeds the line out. This is a problem because it tends to put out too much line and ends up getting cut off and waisted!

There is no ability for attachments with this thing, and is quite loud and puts off bad emmisions. After 2 years of use, I had to replace the head cover because it got all chewed up! All in all, I only recommend this trimmer to the occasional use person. Residential use only. And even then, you will probably have to replace somethings on it within a year or so. Spark plug is at the bottom, which means that you can easily accidently spill gas on it because the tank is above it.

Mine has not died on me yet, but I figure its only time before the engine is shot on this things.

Date Purchased: 2001
Price Paid: $90
Recommend: Yes
Pros:
Lots Of Power, Cuts Well, Automatic Head means, no need to bump the trimmer againts the ground.

Cons:
Hard To Start, Loud, Bad Emmisions, No Ability To Use Attachments, Bad Location OF Sparkplug.
