Purchased this snowblower from Sears on March 28, 2011. It was the end of season clearance sale. ($199.99, regular price was $599.99) It was a 2009 model that had not sold It is 22 inches, with electric start and has a crank control for the chute direction and manual control for the deflector. It has a Briggs 475 Series L head engine 148 cc with throttle, choke and primer. It weighs about 80 pounds. It seemed so small compared with my dual stage , I felt like I had bought a toy. I checked the oil and filled it up with gas, set the choke , pushed the primer a few times and it started on the second pull , I thought that this was good since this was it's first start having been built probably over a year ago. Most of our snow had gone but then we got 8 inches of wet snow. I had never used a single stage before but was quite amazed what it could do , so easy to operate, it easily cleared away the wet snow even if it only threw the snow about 6 feet. I would recommend this model or it's replacement model, for snow up to 10 inches, and if the area being cleared is not that large. "NO TOY"
