Hi,

I have the same machine, I run the higher octane only because they say it is winter gas around here(Canada)and has anti icing properties? The lower octane is good but for the price difference and with the little amount it uses throughout the season, I just get the higher octane. As for the wiring, I guess if your using it around brush or bush, it could be of concern but I haven't had any problem with it, I guess you could cable tie it and not worry about it! Also, I don't use the electric start regularly, but like to use it every so often, so it doesn't seize up! My 2 cents. Merry Christmas!!!

Actually it's filled up with a full tank of gas an Sta-Bil to boot. No trailer unfortunately.

Hey what part of the Philippines is your wife from? Mine is from Cebu (kinda obvious by the name) Does your wife use your snowblower at all?

Hi Steve, sorry for the late reply, busy time of the year as it is for everyone, finally had a chance to sit down by the PC. As for the question, I don't think it is a personal question. The Wifey is from ilo ilo, I had to start with lower case or it would look like IloIlo....lol. As for using the snow blower, she would if I would let her hehehe... BUT it is my toy and me likes to use it!!!! She loves the Winter, sometimes I think more then myself.

So did your jinx break!!! Did you get your machine out!! I hope so. Have yourself a very Merry Christmas Steve and everyone!!! C ya

Steve,
Make sure it is filled up with fuel too!! That might help the reverse effect...!!! Or you could trailer it here to Ontario, Canada, we got lots, my Wifey is from the Philippines also so no worries about them getting along!!! Used the Toro 826, 5-6 times already.

So I decided im going with a Toro but not sure what model to go with. I like the 8260XE but then I seen the 828, are there any notable differances except the width? And then how about the 828 vs the 1028 just the motor??

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi,

I have the 826OXE and couldn't be happier! It is easy to work, has plenty of power for EOD, the chute material is unbreakable IMO, I have cleared the EOD for 5 Years now with ice chunks I hear hitting the chute, LOUD but no damage to unit at all PLUS very little slush sticking to it, it never sticks unless it is watery snow ((very rare and only seen it once)). And the design while running will almost never leave an overrun when blowing because it recirculates the snow(depends on how deep the snow is and your cut width)...TORO has this system down packed, this is my 2nd because I wanted the OHV engine and head light, the 826 Lhead was my first TORO. I think you will be happy if you decide on this unit, I failed to mention the Quick shift which will knock out a fly in the air if you aim it and there were flies in the dead of winter lolll. Again this is my opinion on this machine and I haven't and a problem so far mechanically and in daily use reliability (literally..live in Canada, Ontario). All the best to your decision!! my 2 Cents..
