Re: Ariens ST824 (924082) Anyone else have issues with the engine ingesting snow?

I had the same issue when going slicing into a snow wall higher than the engine, as first I thought I had a carb/fuel issue, but when I backed out the engine ran fine. The engine ran fine a long as I didn't get snow into the heater box area. My guess was that the snow was interfering with the governor linkage.

My Ariens 932101 is going on 10 years old. So far the only thing I did to it besides the R3 retrofit kit was a new carb this year. It needs a new friction wheel so I will put one on in the spring.

People take some responsibility, check you oil before every usage.
I love the folks that wait for the oil light to come on in their cars before they check their oil.

I use PRI-G all year round for my lawn mower, leaf blower and snow thrower.
I even run it in my Dakota and Civic every 4th fill-up. At 1 oz for 16 gal it goes a long way.
