help with scalping
#1   Sep 30, 2005 11:35 am
hey guys.  I  need some help with my riding craftsman mower.  It is a 42* deck and scalps my lawn when riding sideways on a hill or making a u-turn.  I have narrowed it down to needng guide wheels, so I bought some guide wheels from sears to add onto the deck.  Following the instructions, I installed them onto the front of the deck.  The deck is 100% level left to right and slighloy sloped from front to back, but the problem is the guide wjheels.  at the lowest hole on the brack for the guide wheels, they are off the ground about 1".  is this normal to be so high from the ground?  i am gonna go and try to mow, but am afraid im still gonna scalp.  any ideas?
