I agree with the smaller belt if you can't find a way to make the proper adjustments.  I suspect 1/2" would do it.

That's another option if all else fails.

I remember seeing on this site a reference list for different sized belts, but can't seem to find it. Anyone can direct me?

Well I had a nice post written up, but pressed cancel instead of post...

Anyway, I'm not gonna be able to take pics (way too cold, arrived home late), or check further until probably early next week.

Thanks for all the info, I'll get back to you guys later, when I try or check the things you mentioned.

I was looking at a parts diagram of the pulleys for what I think is your blower.  It looks like there my be two positions that the pulley can be mounted.  One higher than the other.
If that is true that may be the adjustment.  Hard to tell just looking at a parts breakdown.

I just took a look at the parts diagram, ant it's the same I have in the Craftsman manual.

Unfortunately, it's not really a true indication of what it actually looks like. The top part is larger than that. I'll try to take a picture in the afternoon when I get back from work.

I don't know your exact model but find it hard to believe that there aren't other adjustments to make other then drilling a new hole. All what I'm saying is that when they designed that particular model all adjustments were considered.

That's why I came here! What could be some of the adjustments? I already tightened the linkage on the handle.

Model is 52993, built by Husqvarna (pretty much the same as 14527XLS from what I can gather).

I'll try and take a picture tomorrow, but the bracket seems to be large enough to enable me to drill it to make it adjustable.
