Re: Snowblower belt sizes - half inch make a difference?

I got my belt reference from this ariens site

http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/belts/ariens_belts.asp

I have the 072106 and 072114.

I hasve looked for replacemrnt 72106 and the ones that come back are 3/8" X 37" not 36.5 like mentioned so I find it kind of funny aswell.
Snowblower belt sizes - half inch make a difference?

I have an older Ariens blower that is about 30 years old and the belts that are avaialble for replacement are not a direct fit. The OEM belt size was 34.5" but the local belts that are stocked go in 1" increments so I can get 34 or 35. How much of an issue would a 1/2" be if I were to use one of those belts above?
Repower older Ariens 932001 (ST270) 2.7hp TEC

Anyone ever repower one of this older/smaller Ariens 2 stagers? It has a Tec 2.7HP H35 Engine on it that needs some work (missing pieces etc)
Honda HS35 still problematic....

Went ahead and bought a new carb for it, with new Insulator and Carb gaskets. Installed today but the thing still runs like crap. Will run fine at full choke, but as soon as I take the choke off, it revs up and down and chokes, never reaching its full operating RPM. It also backfires occassionally and I notice a Grayish smoke coming out of the exhaust. It is a light gray smoke, nothing thick.

Any ideas now?

Why would a soaked & cleaned carb not work? VS rebuilding one
#5   Nov 19, 2006 7:46 pm
Well I took my blower to a shop today, and the guy pretty much said without even seeing the machine, just by my description, than the carb would need rebuilding.

I have soaked and cleaned the carb, so Im wondering what a rebuilt carb would benefit and why it would likely fix it, vs just cleaning and soaking which I have done already.
