Thanks for your input. I've managed 8 seasons without chains so I think I'll continue to do so and just try to be careful.....

Chains for Ariens 924118?

I have 8 year old, 8 hp, 24 "". It has Snow Hog Tires. My driveway is a very steep hill and about 160 feet (3/4 is the hill). I have slipped and fallen only once but I'm now 68. So, will chains improve traction of the Snow Hog tires? If so, any suggestions on where to buy them? Thank you,

Getting the grease into the gearcase?
#4 Oct 22, 2006 9:36 am |

My Ariens is 932104- 8542. I have the Ariens gearcase grease and I (tried to) put it in the gearcase yesterday but I'm not sure how much really go into the gearcase. After trying to fill it on level, the 2nd time a tilted the machine back on the handle. Each time the grease seemed to just bubble up at the hole. I tried to "push" it in with a big nail. Any ideas? Should I use a small hose or funnel? Thanks
