Re: Rock stuck in TORO snowblower...now auger won't turn...HELP

I dont know much about Toros, but I picked up a 2 stage blower this fall. had the same problem. The worm gear in the gear box was chewed up, almsot every tooth was sheared off. If the belt is fine, i would suspect this if your blower has one. It can be a pita to fix if your blowers rusty. Good luck, dave

The silver screw towards the bottom is what i think the governor is.

tecumseh 5hp throttle problems

Hey guys,
I have a 5hp Tecumseh Snowking on a older Murray blower. Ive been working on this machine for a couple months now as i acquired it in pretty bad shape. Well the little "shutter" i think it is called that moves the throtle was rusted to the carb. Some wd 40 and it started moving freely. The problem is, the rpms were to low. I could move the lever to the high (rabbit) position and she would be at a pretty medium rpm. If i would move it manually she would run great.  I screwed around with it for a few days and moved the spring from the governor rod to the lever. it still woudl run pretty slow so today after not begin able to blow the snow I unscrewed and moved around the governor (the thing screwed to the block?) and got the engine working pretty good. The problem is with the engine off when i move the lever on the slow position the throttle is on the idle speed screw, move it to the fast position it is all the way open. Now heres the problem, shes running so fast with the throttle all the way open im afraid it may blowup. Does anybody know how far the throttle should be open with the lever all the way up? I adjusted the high speed screw to and she runs pretty smooth even at the higher rpm.

Does anybody know how to readjust the throttle? I looked at guides to readjust the governor but I really dont want to grenade the engine with all this time and $$$ put into this blower.

Thanks alot, Dave
