1961 Simplicity
#1   Nov 24, 2014 8:30 am
Hi folks,

I've had a 1961 Simplicity Sno Away since last June or so.  I bought it off Ebay just for the motor actually as I am very much into the old Lauson Tecumseh's.  I was going to just trash the snow blower itself as I paid $28 for it.  This machine is in perfect running condition mind you.  Well worth the price of even just the engine.  It's an H35P 2404P Tecumseh.  But then I heard this was quite a find to most snow blower enthusiasts and it was an all original machine.  I couldn't bear to trash it and decided to restore it.  Then recently I saw an Ebay ad with a '63 Simplicity but had a Briggs on it.  I contacted the seller to inquire more about these blowers and he said all the old Simplicity blowers had Briggs.  He worked for Simplicity so he should know what he's talking about.  So I am now doubting the all original status of this thing.  Does anyone know if this is true?  That they all used Briggs?  I've asked on a few boards already and I've never gotten a reply.
