Re: general Blower question

Thanks for the input guys. Also thanks for the heads up about the generator. I have not run that in quite a while. But that raises a question for me as I'm not very electrically inclined; how would I provide a load? The only times we have used it was when there was no power in the house due to a storm. I guess I could unplug my fridge and plug it into the generator? Would that provide enough of a load?

Except for fogging the cylinders, I did run the gas out of it two years ago. So it's been in 'storage' so to speak. The only reason I hesitate to gas up and start it is because of the gas situation. Even running it til it runs out of gas still leaves some gas in the tank. It's hard to get it all out. But after two years now, the tank is dry. I'm leaning toward running it just to get everything moving again. Maybe it will snow and that will make the decision for me, but I doubt it.

general Blower question

I have not posted here in a long time, but I have a question for you folks. Last winter was mild and I did not use my blower at all. Did not even put gas in (in case there was no need). Now this winter is almost over and I have not even gassed up the machine. So unless there is significant snow in the next few weeks, the machine will not have been run in two years. Should I just put it away again for another year, or would it be advantageous to gas it and run it for a little while til the gas tank is dry? What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Which zero turn would you recommend?

Hi all! I think I'm close to needing a new riding mower. I have an acre and a quarter of mostly flat ground with one hillside to mow. There are also the requisite trees and gardens to mow around. I'm partial to Cub Cadet since I've had good luck with their riding mowers, but now I'm thinking zero turn. Cub makes them, but they seem like they're late to the game with them. Does anyone know their record with zero turns? I'm open to other manufacturers also since Cub has not been into zero turns as long as some others. I'm hoping to keep the price around $3500, which leaves out most of the more 'professional' consumer models. What are your thoughts? All recommendations are appreciated.

Should I change oil?

Hello everyone I have not posted since last winter. Haven't had any questions, and you folks know more about this stuff than I do, so I don't bother posting. But now I have a question; I've only used my Ariens 8526 once this season, in mid Feb. when we had a storm. I did not put gas in until the day before the storm and mixed Sta-bil in. I changed the oil last spring before I put it away. So I ran it for about an hour and a half doing my drive and my neighbors in Feb.. It's now March 8. If we get no further snow, should I bother changing the oil? Or just run the fuel out of it and put it away? Thanks for your input.
