Ariens 624e Engine Transplant with new Kohler WH208 Snow Pro.

I bought this used snowblower last October from this guy who claimed "it ran just fine last winter" but was unable to start it this season. The thing was in almost new condition so I figured there couldn't be much wrong with it.  Spent several hours trying to get that Tecumseh engine started and I never did get it to turn over....not even once.

After a bit a research on the net I found this Kohler Snow Pro that was billed as a replacement for the Tecumseh LH195SA, OH195SA and OH195SP engines. The shaft and bolt pattern looked like a match so I took a gamble and ordered one online ($219 plus $30 shipping).

Happy to report that it took all of 40minutes to swap it out and it's a perfect match. Only had trim the belt cover a little and remove 2 bolt on the chute mast bolts to get the cover back on because the Kohler is a little bigger.

Though I would post the info in case someone is looking for a replacement engine for their 624e.
